German Fuel Emissions Trading Act (BEHG) Auction Phase 2026

From 2026, the national emissions trading system (nEHS) transitions from fixed prices to an auction phase. A price corridor for nEHS certificates will be introduced, with a minimum price of 55 EUR/t CO2 and a maximum price of 65 EUR/t CO2. The actual price will be determined by market demand within this range.
