Switzerland — Cantonal Model Energy Regulations (MuKEn 2014) — Implementation 2023+

The Swiss Cantonal Model Energy Regulations (MuKEn 2014) set minimum standards for energy efficiency and renewable energy in buildings. By end-2023, 23 of 26 cantons had implemented the regulations. They require, among other things, that at least 10% of heat demand be covered by renewable energy when replacing heating systems, increasing demand for corresponding system components and installation materials.
