Saxony real estate transfer tax increase 2023

Saxony increased its real estate transfer tax rate from 3.5% to 5.5% effective January 1, 2023. This was the first increase since 2007 and serves to finance the double budget for 2023 and 2024. The change impacts real estate acquisitions across the state.
