Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)
Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), entered into force on 18 July 2024. It establishes a framework for setting ecodesign requirements for almost all categories of physical goods, aiming to make sustainable products the norm. This regulation replaces the previous Ecodesign Directive (2009/125/EC) and will impact construction products by introducing requirements for durability, repairability, and resource efficiency.
