Renewable Heat Act (EWG) - Ban on fossil heating in new buildings
The Renewable Heat Act (EWG) prohibits the installation of fossil fuel-based heating systems in new buildings in Austria. This expands the existing ban on oil and coal boilers to all systems capable of operating with fossil fuels. The law aims to reduce CO2 emissions from heating systems in new constructions and promotes the transition to climate-friendly alternatives for existing systems.
