France introduced a one-time inflation compensation payment of 100 euros for 38 million French citizens earning less than 2,000 euros net per month. This measure, implemented in December 2021, aimed to protect the purchasing power of vulnerable individuals and middle-class households against rising energy costs, especially petrol.
