German Climate Change Act: Public Procurement with CO2 Pricing
Paragraph 13 of the German Climate Change Act (KSG) mandates that public authorities consider the law's purpose and climate goals in their planning and procurement. For federal investments and procurement, a CO2 price must be applied to greenhouse gas emissions. When multiple options exist, preference should be given to those that achieve the lowest greenhouse gas emission reduction costs over the entire life cycle.
