German National CO₂ Price (nEHS/BEHG) — Price Path 2024–2026
Germany's national emissions trading system (nEHS, based on BEHG) for heating and transport raised the CO₂ price to €45/t in 2024 and €55/t in 2025. From 2026, a price corridor of €55–65/t applies. The rising carbon price directly increases production costs for energy-intensive building materials such as cement, lime and brick, whose manufacturing relies on fossil fuels.
