REACH: Formaldehyde Restriction in Products

Formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing substances have been added to the REACH Regulation as restricted substances. From August 2026, formaldehyde release from furniture and wood-based articles must not exceed 0.062 mg/m³ for products to be legally sold in the EU. This restriction aims to protect human health from the adverse effects of formaldehyde exposure.
