WFD: Commission to Consider New C&D Waste Targets

The Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC) mandates that by 31 December 2024, the European Commission shall consider the setting of new preparing for re-use and recycling targets for construction and demolition waste and its material-specific fractions. This indicates a potential future regulatory change to further increase circularity in the construction sector beyond the existing 70% target for 2020.
