Waste Framework Directive: Construction & Demolition Waste Recycling Target
The Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC), as amended in 2018, set a target for Member States to increase the preparing for re-use, recycling and other material recovery of non-hazardous construction and demolition waste to a minimum of 70% by weight by 2020. While this target was set prior to the 2022-2026 period, it remains an active and relevant regulation. The Commission is expected to consider setting new targets by December 2024.
